Ukrainian International Chamber of Commerce opens its headquarters in Erbil

    The headquarters of the Ukrainian International Chambers of Commerce was inaugurated on Wednesday morning in Erbil, the ceremony was attended by the representatives of KRG and Iraqi governments as well as number of Iraqi businessmen, merchants and economic institutions in the Iraqi private sector.
     
    The official representative of the Ukrainian National Committee of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) in Iraq, Imad Balk, said: "The aim of opening the headquarters is to represent companies with various international institutions affecting economic affairs, noting that they are working to encourage trade exchanges and investment between Ukraine and Iraq.
     
    He added that ICC works to facilitate international trade and protect the interests of companies by urging governments and international organizations to strengthen the legal arsenal and legislation framing commercial, financial and investment operations and contribute to submitting proposals and the important role in establishing a set of international rules. 
    ICC contribute to settling disputes related to economic deals between the companies, through its established body, to arbitrate disputes of an economic nature and aim to encourage trade between the two countries.
     
    After the opening of the headquarters today in Erbil, we will look forward from now to determine a location for the Ukrainian International Chambers of Commerce in the capital, Baghdad, with the participation of the Iraqi government and economic bodies with economic and commercial jurisdiction, and through legal and official frameworks, and activating commercial interaction between the chambers and the Iraqi private sector, Balk also added.
