MOFA asserts Iraq-Ukraine relations

    Foreign Minister Fouad Hussein stressed on Saturday, the importance of strengthening bilateral relations with Ukraine by diversifying the frameworks of consultation and joint cooperation.
    Hussein met the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, Dmytro Kuleba on the sidelines of the Antalya Diplomatic Forum, according to a statement by the media office of the Minister of Foreign Affairs, received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA).
    During the meeting, they discussed strengthening bilateral relations, and consulting on how to deal with various issues and regional challenges, which Iraq calls for finding sustainable solutions to enhance stability in the region.
    Minister of Foreign Affairs stressed the importance of strengthening aspects of bilateral relations through diversifying the frameworks of consultation and joint cooperation, in a way that contributes to achieving security and stability in the region.
    He expressed "Baghdad's aspiration to continue and increase support for all ongoing efforts at various political, economic and socially as well as development levels, for the benefit of both countries,”
    "The government is moving towards creating an environment that attracts foreign investment, providing means of developing promising investment opportunities for foreign companies to invest in Iraq, joint coordination between the two countries in the fields of trade and agriculture, supporting the file of Iraqi students studying in Ukraine and exchanging experiences, as well as coordination at international level in the field of international organizations, in addition to facilitating entry visas granting between the two countries, while looking into the possibility of opening an air transport line between the two countries,” he pointed out.
    For his part, Kuleba stressed, "Iraq's strategic importance in the Middle East region, and that his country's administration is keen to push forward bilateral cooperation with Baghdad in various fields in the next stage," noting "Ukraine's desire to send a delegation of agricultural businessmen in the next few months,"
    "The presence of some Ukrainian children and women in a camp in Syria and the desire of the Ukrainian government to recover them with the help of Iraq," Kuleba indicated.
