The General Company for Glass Industry of the Ministry of Industry confirmed today, Thursday, that there are no obstacles to operating its stalled factories in Anbar except for financial costs, while it announced the assignment of seven industrial projects to Russian companies.
The Director General of the General Company for Glass, Engineer Fouad Hammad Anzi, told the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that "there are stalled factories belonging to the General Company for Glass and Refractories consisting of three industrial complexes, the first is the glass industry complex in Ramadi and consists of five suspended factories, and the second is a complex The ceramics also consists of three factories, all of which are suspended, and the third is a refractory complex in Fallujah consisting of five factories and its projects are suspended due to the terrorist and military actions that have passed through the province.
He added, "The company sought to rehabilitate these factories, but the costs required for this are very high, and it cannot be financed by the state due to the economic and financial situation it is going through now," noting that "the Ministry of Industry directed the announcement of all factories as investment opportunities, as they were announced Several times for the purpose of attracting feasible offers, the last of which was the assignment of the rehabilitation of seven industrial projects to Russian companies in the glass and ceramic factories, as well as the establishment of a new production project, the flat glass production project, which is expected to exceed the country’s production capacity and will be surplus for export purposes.
