Minister of Oil Ihsan Abdul-Jabbar stressed on Thursday the role of international companies in developing the industry of oil and energy in Iraq.
During his attendance to the book signing ceremony of Abdul Mahdi Al-Amidi, former Director General of Oil Contracts and Licensing department ,titled ( Service contracts for 2 oil licensing rounds "History and Analysis ) , Abdul-Jabbar said that oil companies In Iraq and the national effort have contributed to the development of oil facilities, the infrastructure for the oil sector, increase in production, the introduction of technology used in oil operations, in addition to the development of oil sector staff.
Abdul-Jabbar praised the effort made by the author in collecting and categorizing information related to these contracts, stressing the importance of the book in clarifying a lot of information for those interested, concerned and public opinion.
For his part, the author Abdul-Mahdi Al-Amidi gave a summary of the most important information contained in the book on the contracts of the first and second oil licensing rounds, and the most important achievements for the period from (2010-2019), in terms of production, development and financial revenues achieved.
The spokesman for the Ministry of Oil, Assem Jihad, confirmed the ministry's keenness to support all initiatives aiming to educate about the activities and events related to the development of the oil industry and the optimal investment of this wealth.
The signing ceremony, which was held in the main hall of the Baghdad International Fair, was attended by a number of officials, experts and those interested in oil and economic affairs.
