Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kadhimi confirmed on Saturday that Nasiriyah Airport will open up horizons for international investment and tourism in the province.
According to a statement by PM media office to the Iraqi News Agency (INA):PM said while laying the corner stone for Nasiriyah International Airport, that it will open up horizons for investment and international tourism in the province, as well as providing many job opportunities in Dhi Qar, pointing out that the project has adopted modern plans to make it a vital airport which will provides services for travelers to Dhi Qar and the surrounding provinces, as well as to investors and tourists from different countries of the world.
Al-Kadhimi also mentioned, there is great interest in Dhi Qar province after the visit of His Holiness the Pope, which represented a great success for Iraq in the international circles, affirming that the airport will attract thousands of tourists annually, and activate the investment movement in various sectors in the province.
The airport contract was recently signed, and we determined to support the project to complete it within the prescribed period, Al-Kadhimi added.
