5 Peshmerga martyred, 4 wounded in terrorist attack by PKK

The Undersecretary of Peshmerga ministry in Kurdistan Region, Sarbast Lazgin, confirmed, today, Saturday, that 9 Peshmerga were killed and wounded in a terrorist attack by PKK in Dohuk.

In a statement for the Iraqi News Agency (INA), Lazgin said “that the casualties among Peshmerga forces happened as a result of an ambush carried out by PKK militants in Matina Mountain nearby Amadiyah district in Dohuk governorate."

He added that "the terrorist attack resulted the martyrdom of five engineering personnel in the Peshmerga forces and the injury of four others while they were combing the area to remove mines and barriers," noting that "the attack occurred at five a.m.
