BAGHDAD - INA
Parliamentary services committee revealed on Tuesday, about two options for the implementation of the project of the suspension railway in the capital Baghdad, while confirming that the financial allocations are disruptive to the implementation of the project.
A member of the committee, Jassem Al-Bakhti, told the Iraqi News Agency (INA): "The representatives of the Baghdad governorate objected, when voting on the budget, to the lack of financial allocations for the suspended train, and threatened not to pass it unless in the case of financial allocations."
Al-Bukhati added that "the financial committee promised to add an amount, albeit a small one, to launch this project, but we were surprised by the lack of the amount in the budget," noting that "there is an opinion that the design company and another Korean company will participate in the investment process of this project for a period of 14 years, which is under consideration".
He pointed out that "there is another opinion, which is that the project should be implemented by the sectoral department in the Ministry of Transport," adding: "But financial matters are blocking the project in Baghdad."
