The spokesman for the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Major General Yahya Rasoul, confirmed today, Friday, that the security forces have taken a new method and tactic to strike the remnants of ISIS, while he revealed that the Counter-Terrorism Service directed painful strikes that overthrew important leaders of ISIS terrorist gangs.
Major General Rasoul told the Iraqi News Agency (INA): “Based on the directives of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Mustafa Al-Kadhimi, and through qualitative pre-emptive operations and working with a strategy to strike the terrorist remnants of ISIS, and through the joint operations command, precise strikes were directed at cells and remnants of ISIS. ".
He added that "several operations were launched in different sectors, including Salah al-Din, Nineveh, and the Anbar Operations Command," noting that "the qualitative operations were attended by the army, the Ministry of Interior and the Popular Mobilization Forces, and were carried out with the support of the Iraqi air cover."
He revealed that "the Counter-Terrorism Service provided specific operations against terrorists, and dealt painful strikes that resulted in the death and arrest of leaders and important elements of ISIS terrorist", explaining that "there is a consolidation of the intelligence effort, which was achieved through the eradication of these cells and the seizure of the sites of ISIS terrorist gangs and logistical support.".
He pointed out that "the security forces are taking a new approach and another tactic by directing air force and army air strikes according to specific and elected targets, or launching large-scale operations to search and pursue ISIS terrorist remnants, whether in desert areas or mountain ranges."
