Joint Operations Command determined on Wednesday, the strategy to confront the threats of the terrorist gangs of ISIS and methods of infiltration, while it revealed the implementation of strikes in the Nineveh that resulted in the destruction of tunnels.

"The security forces implement, as part of strategic measures to confront the threats, qualitative and pre-emptive operations supervised by the Joint Operations Command by planning and preparing to strike ISIS terrorist gangs and maintain pressure on terrorists,” said the spokesman for joint operations, Major General Tahsin Al-Khafaji, to the Iraqi News Agency (INA).

Al-Khafaji added, "ISIS is taking advantage of some security gaps to move on borders with Syria and it is being addressed by ongoing security operations," noting that "ISIS is trying to return, but the great planning and intelligence effort as well as the change in the qualitative tactic of the joint operations command is consistent with the size of the threat,”

"The US-Led international coalition's air strikes targeted ISIS in Nineveh, including tunnels that destroyed them and killed 5 terrorists who were spotted entering the tunnels,” said Al-Khafaji as he regarded to the recent operations carried out against ISIS.

He pointed out that "there is another operation in Hamrin mountain range towards the sector of Anbar operations, and there is another operation in the Diyala sector, to perpetuate the intelligence and security effort in order to prevent infiltration methods that ISIS sometimes uses,”
