The Ministry of Water Resources announced today, Tuesday, the imminent completion of a project contributing to the reclamation of 60,000 dunams east of Basra, indicating that the project is more than 40 kilometers long.
The Minister of Resources, Mahdi Rashid Al-Hamdani, told the Iraqi News Agency (INA): "Work continues on the East Tigris drainage project, which aims to improve the water environment in the Shatt al-Arab and complete the special drainage water."
"The project will contribute to reclaiming 50 to 60 thousand dunams of agricultural land east of Basra," he added, pointing to "the ministry's keenness to implement the project, whose length is more than 40 kilometers."
