The Joint Operations Command warned, today, Tuesday, of the withdrawal of companies for the maintenance of F-16s, while confirming that these aircraft are the backbone of the Air Force.
The spokesman for the leadership, Major General Tahsin Al-Khafaji, told the Iraqi News Agency (INA): "The F-16 aircraft are very important aircraft and are the backbone of the Iraqi air force and the Iraqi arm in fighting and combating terrorism," indicating that "the companies working in the maintenance of these aircraft have a direct impact on the operation." Preparing the cadres and technologies that contribute to raising the capacity of Iraqi technicians.
He added, "We hope that the training of our technical cadres will be completed in order to take the principle of maintenance, as well as fully equip and repair," noting that "any interruption in the schedule of the preparation process will negatively affect the training processes, complete our capabilities and build our engineering and technical capabilities."
The spokesman for the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Major General Yahya Rasoul, had announced earlier, the need for training, arming, equipping, and exchanging intelligence information with the international coalition, stressing that this would complement building the capabilities of the Iraqi armed forces.
