The Parliamentary Legal Committee confirmed its endeavor to pass the Information Crimes Law in the current session, while determining the reason for objecting to the passage of the law .

A member of the committee, Hassan Fadam, told the Iraqi News Agency (INA): "The law of information crimes or electronic crimes is one of the most important laws, and the House of Representatives is very interested in legislating it in this session," indicating that "the legal committee is making efforts in order to find a state of consensus to pass the law.".

He added that "there are no objective objections to the law, as all the objections are from parties that fear that websites will be seized because they are exploited for political and conspiratorial purposes against the country, society and the people," noting that "the electronic chaos that is taking place now does not exist in all countries. "he says .

Fadam continued that "there are fake websites and pages, political shedding, spreading obscenity, spreading chaos, spreading propaganda, lies and deception, and creating a misleading public opinion, and all of this harms the general security of the country and harms the political system and the country's higher interests," stressing the need to "control the general situation of these sites and control their outputs and not." Exploiting them to harm countries and peoples, the social fabric and others . "
