The office of Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kadhimi announced on Monday, signing of a memorandum of understanding with the International Mission of the Red Cross in Iraq in the field of strengthening international humanitarian law at the national level.
"A ceremony took place on Monday, to sign a memorandum of understanding between the Iraqi government and the International Mission of the Red Cross in Iraq, in the field of strengthening international humanitarian law at the national level," the office said in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA)ز
The director of the prime minister's office, Raed Juhi, signed the memorandum of understanding, representing the Iraqi government, with the head of the mission, John Jerome.
“The memorandum aims to spread international humanitarian law and make it part of the culture of university youth, academics and security institutions,” included the statement.
“The memorandum of understanding comes in line with the prime minister's directives, which emphasize the importance of the rule of law, and also a translation of the government program that stipulates imposing the prestige of the state, extending order and prosecuting outlaws," Juhi stressed.
