The Border Ports Authority announced today, Sunday, that it has seized more than a million masks intended for smuggling.
In a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), the authority stated, "The northern port of Umm Qasr managed to thwart an attempt to smuggle medical supplies (masks) in a quantity of (1,200,000) which were seized outside the customs campus hidden in a container containing various materials. Indicating that this material requires official approvals from the Ministry of Health to be imported.
The statement added that "its customs treatment is carried out by the customs inspection committee of the Umm Qasr Al Shamali Customs Center."
