Algerian international, Riyad Mahrez, star of English club Manchester City, joined a massive campaign to boycott social media in order to combat racism and hate speech in football.
Riyad Mahrez published a "tweet" through his official account on the "Twitter" website, in which he said: "We will shut down our social media platforms until Monday evening, in response to the ongoing online abuse."
Mehrez will boycott the three social media platforms, "Facebook, Twitter and Instagram", committing to his moral role in combating racism and hate speech in football, and the number of followers of the Algerian star exceeds 15 million people
