The Parliamentary Security and Defense Committee identified three things that stand in the way of Iraq's purchase of the S-300 air system, while indicating that there is a government approach to building and developing the air system.
A member of the committee, Muhammad Hussein Abu Dharr, told the Iraqi News Agency (INA), "The development of the air technology system in the country is not easy, and it needs a lot of time and budget," pointing out that "the committee has approached the security authorities, especially the Ministry of Defense, regarding the development of air defenses.”, Because Iraq needs to develop its defenses and air system. "
Abu Dharr added, "There is a need for a decision, large funds and external expertise, so that Iraq can purchase advanced equipment, including the S-300 air system," noting that "the government and the Ministry of Defense are moving towards building the air system."
