ERD commander directs to redeploy the division's units in Diyala

Commander of the Rapid Response Division – ERD, Lieutenant General Thamir al-Husseini, directed the division's forces to redeploy in Diyala, against the backdrop of recent security breaches.

"We have directed the redeployment of our division units in Diyala, after the security breaches that occurred in the Al-Jizani area," said Al-Husseini in a statement to the Iraqi News Agency (INA).

He added, "New areas have been opened as needed to control them, and there will be a redeployment of sectors in these areas in coordination with the rest of the civil and military effort,"

Al-Husseini explained that the governor of Diyala has ensured the opening of roads and civil works, as well as the command of operations and Diyala police.

They will cooperate with the rapid response to redeploy the units, “in light of the presence of a large number of IEDs in these areas as well as a number of hostels for the terrorist ISIS who were expelled and the area cleaned,"
