The Ministry of Industry and Minerals announced the launch of sugar production plants in the governorates of Maysan and Nineveh to investment, while it revealed its plan to support the national product.
A spokesman for the ministry, Mortada Al-Safi, told the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that "factories for the production of sugar in Maysan and Mosul have been put up for investment in order to rehabilitate their production lines and return them to work."
He added, "The ministry has a plant for the production of vegetable oils, and a contract has been made with the Ministry of Trade to supply it with edible oil," noting that "the contract includes supplying the Ministry of Trade with vegetable oil for a period of three months."
