The President of the Republic, Barham Salih, confirmed today, Thursday, the decision to end the presence of foreign combat forces in Iraq.
Salih said in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA): "Iraq's relationship with the United States is important and fundamental , based on common interests, and the strategic dialogue between us deals with all political, economic, cultural and security issues."
He added, "There is a decision to end the presence of American and foreign combat forces," noting that "there are no more than 2,500 personnel."
On the other hand, the President of the Republic stated that "there is a defect in the relationship between Baghdad and Erbil, and the relationship must be put in its proper basis, and each party must know its rights and duties through a national dialogue in which everyone sits to discuss it."
