The High Electoral Commission announced steps to monitor party financing, while determining the ages that can participate in the elections.
The commission spokeswoman Jumana Al-Ghalai told the Iraqi News Agency (INA): The commission has put in place a system for electoral campaigns to coordinate the work of the candidates and their electoral campaigns, indicating that the commission has approved 249 parties, while there are 60 parties in progress, and 106 parties have reviewed the Department of Parties Affairs and made a statement the desire to participate in the elections. "
The commission added that "30 parties have been approved within the coalitions, 10 parties in progress, and 8 parties previously approved," noting that "the number of candidates is 186 candidates, including 162 individual candidates, 4 from alliances and 20 individuals from 11 parties, of whom 4 are Yezidis." And 5 Sabeans and 4 Fellians. "
"The number of registrants in the biometric reached 15 million 609 thousand and 951, while the number of cards distributed to voters amounted to 13 million and 366 thousand and 167 cards," explaining that "the process of updating the voters' records exceeded one million, of whom 15 thousand were displaced."
