The Presidency of the Republic denied today, Tuesday, the existence of a statement by the President of the Republic, Barham Salih, about Iraq's readiness to sign a peace agreement with Israel.
In a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), the presidential spokesperson said, "The media and pages on social media circulated a fabricated statement attributed to the President of the Republic stating that Iraq is ready to sign a peace agreement with Israel in coordination with the Palestinians."
He added, "What is being circulated is absolutely incorrect, and the statement is fabricated," calling on the media and bloggers to be accurate and credible and to take information from its official source, otherwise the circulation of this news without scrutiny aims to offend and create chaos, and for suspicious purposes.
