The Bulgarian authorities announced an emergency landing at Sofia Airport belonging to Air France, which was on its way from Paris to New Delhi, due to the behavior of a passenger.
The official at the National Investigation Agency, Evilo Angelov, said: "An Indian passenger began to act aggressively shortly after takeoff, where he quarreled with other passengers and attacked a flight attendant," according to Reuters.
His aggressive behavior prompted the flight captain to seek an emergency landing in Sofia, and the man was removed from the plane and charged with endangering the safety of flight. If convicted, he faces up to ten years in prison.
The plane resumed its flight to New Delhi. "We are investigating his actions and motives, there is no reasonable explanation for his behavior," .
