The First Deputy Speaker of Parliament, Hassan Al-Kaabi, today, Friday, welcomed the Pope's historic visit to Iraq.
Al-Kaabi said in a tweet followed by the Iraqi News Agency (INA) that, "After the plane of Pope Francis landed peacefully to the land of peace and the cradle of civilizations and the country of prophets, saints, martyrs, thinkers and poets, we welcome the most beautiful historical visit of the Great Pope, the Pope of the Vatican, a generous guest on the land of Mesopotamia, a city where the noble religions meet ".
