The organizing committee for the visit of the Pope, Pope Francis, announced today, Thursday, that all preparations for the Pope's visit have been completed.
In a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), the spokesman for the organizing committee for the Pope’s visit, Ahmed Al-Sahhaf, said that “all preparations for the Pope’s visit were completed through the visiting committee,” noting that “the security plans for the Pope’s visit include the land and the air, and all of them are in the best way.”
He added that "the Pope's visit to Iraq is historical and the first of its kind and comes in an exceptional time context," stressing that "the Pope's visit comes to enhance security, community peace and interfaith dialogue."
And he added, "The Pope will hold a mass in the presence of a great official and religious presence, amid high health measures."
