The Speaker of Parliament, Muhammad al-Halbousi, discussed today, Sunday, with the US ambassador to Iraq, Matthew Tueller, to strengthen cooperation between the two countries in the economic and security fields.
The media office of the Speaker of Parliament said, in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that "the meeting discussed bilateral relations between the two countries, strengthening cooperation in the security and economic fields, discussing the issue of the displaced, and stressing the continuation of support to ensure safe return to their areas, as well as a number of Topics of common interest.”
The US ambassador stressed, according to the statement, "the commitment of the United States of America to strengthening the partnership and deepening the relationship with the Iraqi people," stressing "the continuation of cooperation for a secure and stable Iraq."
