Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kadhimi confirmed that COVID-19 vaccine is to be provided to Iraqis as soon as possible.
"We are working hard to get COVID-19 vaccine to Iraq as soon as possible," said Al-Kadhimi during a meeting of the Supreme Committee for Health and National Safety on Wednesday.
The Cabinet discussed in the session held on Tuesday, providing the necessary funding to purchase COVID-19 vaccine as soon as the World Health Organization recognizes its effectiveness, stated the Cabinet spokesman Hassan Nadhim stated.
Nadhim explained that there are discussions raised about contracting with companies producing vaccines with conditions, the most important of which is that Iraqis seek to provide global reliability for these vaccines and also provide logistic services to transport the vaccine.
