Higher Committee for National Health and Safety decided the 29th, November as a date for the start of the new school year.
This came during a meeting that Higher Committee held and was chaired by PM Mustafa al-Kadhimi, according to a statement by the PM’s Media Office that Iraqi News Agency - INA received on Saturday.
The meeting included discussing the latest updates regarding COVID-19 pandemic situation in Iraq, in addition to the government efforts to deal with it as well as the Ministry of Health ongoing providing of medical-therapeutic supplies and logistical efforts to state institutions.
The Committee discussed the items enlisted on the agenda, and issued a number of resolutions as follows:
First:
Approving the start of the 2020-2021 school year to kick off on Sunday 29th, November 2020.
The Ministries of Education, Higher Education and Scientific Research are to provide their plans with the Ministry of Health and Environment to ensure the implementation of preventive measures and present them at the next meeting of the Higher Committee.
Second:
Generalizing; by official means; the resolutions concerning the arrivals to the diplomatic missions operating in Iraq and the Iraqi embassies abroad by the Iraqi Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Third:
Paying the financial dues to purchase COVID-19 vaccine from the Global Alliance for Vaccines and Immunization (GAVI); the first installment; in accordance with the agreement signed with them and by the Higher Committee for Health and Safety decision NO.103, 2020, and from the allocations of the General Company for Marketing Medicines and Medical supplies (CIMADIA).
Fourth:
Abiding to work by the decision of the Higher Committee for National Health and Safety resolution NO24 , 2020.
Fifth:
The Ministry of Health is to make the re-examination of occupational regulations and standards for laboratory testing of COVID-19 in private labs and ensuring safety conditions in it, coordinated by the committee and established by administrative order NO.20, issued by the Consultant Service's book NO. A/528, 11th August, 2020.
Sixth:
1. Abiding to act in accordance with the decisions of the Higher Committee of National Health and Safety NO.89,80,74,22, and providing exception of the need to get health approval; non-objection; from the Ministry of Health.
2. Repeal of paragraph (1) of Higher Committee of National Health and Safety resolution NO.91, 2020 adopted at its 16th meeting on 15th August, 2020.
3. Repeal of paragraph (A) of Higher Committee of National Health and Safety resolution NO.108, 2020 adopted at its 18th meeting on 19th September, 2020.
4. Entry of non-Iraqi arrivals to be exclusively through the air outlets with applying the conditions of the pre-safeguards issued by the Committee.
