Today, Sunday, the Joint Operations Command announced that the security operations that began in Baghdad and Basra have achieved their results, while confirming that they will impose the law in all governorates that witness a security chaos due to uncontrolled weapons.
"The Joint Operations Command carried out security operations in Baghdad and Basra under the direction of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Mustafa Al-Kadhmi, in pursuit of outlaws," said the spokesman for operations, Major General Tahsin Al-Khafaji, to the Iraqi News Agency (INA).
He stressed that "the security operation achieved its results, through the weapons and ammunition it acquired, as well as the arrest of important wanted persons in the drug trade and terrorism."
He added that "the launch of the recent security operations, which came in order to limit weapons to the hands of the state, in addition to imposing the prestige of the state and the law."
