Saerounbloc member, Ali Al-Lami, announced today, Tuesday, the position of his bloc regarding the new prime minister's candidate.
Al-Lami said in a statement to the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that "his bloc is keen that the prime minister's candidate be in accordance with the conditions set by the demonstrators, foremost of which is that the candidate is independent and away from the circle of political blocs."
He added that "there are political blocs that did not want these conditions and insist that they go with a consensual candidate, that is, quotas for the formation of a government of gains and gains, and that is why these blocs did not vote for Allawi's government."
The Prime Minister-designate, Muhammad Tawfiq Allawi, offered his apology to the President of the Republic for forming the government, while the President of the Republic, Barham Salih, announced the start of consultations to select an alternative candidate within a period of 15 days within the scope of his constitutionaland national responsibilities.
