The Kurdish blocs revealed the addition of the Prime Minister-designate Muhammad Tawfiq Allawi, a new ministry for the Kurds, while indicating that they have not yet determined their position on attending the session of granting confidence scheduled for Thursday.
"The Kurdish blocs have not yet reached an agreement with Prime Minister-designate Muhammad Tawfiq Allawi regarding the attendance of the session of granting confidence scheduled for tomorrow, Thursday," member of the Islamic Group, Salim Shushky, told the Iraqi News Agency (INA).
He added that "the Prime Minister-designate were informed of the addition of a new ministry for the Kurds in the cabins of the new government under the name of the Ministry of State for Kurdistan Region Affairs, and so far no one has been appointed to take over that ministry."
The Prime Minister in charge of forming the government, Mohammed Tawfiq Allawi, confirmed that tomorrow the first cabinet of independent candidates will be voted on.
Allawi said in a tweet on Twitter followed by the Iraqi News Agency : "Tomorrow, the first booth will be voted on by qualified and impartial independent candidates who will return the people their rights and prestige to Iraq."
