The Ministry of Interior announced the closure of about 900 websites affiliated with Daesh terrorist gangs propagating rumors, while calling for caution in obtaining and receiving information from its real sources.
"Most of the rumors are not spontaneous," Maj. Gen. Saad Maan, Director of Relations and Information at the Ministry of Interior said in a statement to the Iraqi News Agency , noting that "there are malicious armies and organizations working in secret to exploit a certain situation in other directions."
The meaning of "the citizens called for caution in obtaining information and receiving it from its real sources," pointing out that "there are official media channels such as the Iraqi media network and national channels that can be relied upon, as well as the website of the Ministry of Interior, which is the official body in the transmission of news and statements that relate to With security.”
For his part, Director of the Department of Anti-Rumors in the Ministry of Interior, Colonel Ziyad Muhareb Al-Qaisi, stated in a special statement to the Iraqi News Agency (INA) that "The Anti-Rumors Section in the Ministry of Interior and in coordination with the Ministry of Communications managed to close about 850 to 900 websites affiliated with Daesh terrorist gangs promoting Rumors after being monitored and diagnosed, usually "rumors of serious crimes affecting the security and stability of the country."
