INA - Baghdad PM Haider Abadi insisted that the duty requires 'strengthening security and stability, counter-terrorism and calling to account any inefficient official'. “Biggest corruption we face is mismanagement and misusing the country’s resources,” he noted. Noting that, Abadi has paid huge attention to current protests in some provinces against poor services, unemployment and corruption. “Devolution of powers to the provinces led to another problem which is 'confessionalism' between political parties in local councils,” he said. Abadi noted that he isn’t against MPs when he vetoed their financial privileges, as the govt. seeks reducing expenditures. Editor: Khaled Qassim
