US GE and Turkish ENKA companies threatened to withdraw from the project of building Dhi Qar combined power plant due of the prohibition of employees’ entry to the project by the demonstrators.
"A group of workers of the Turkish company closed the door of the project and prevented the entry of equipment and machinery to the site, including food for the workers," project manager Mwafak Al-Sahlani told Iraqi News Agency INA.
He added, "The two companies are preparing to withdraw from the project," stressing that "the station will not operate in the coming summer as specified,"
