Trade Minister Mohammed Hashim al-Ani on Wednesday discussed with Iraq's ambassador to the US embassy Patrick Dum the economic accession to the World Trade Organization.
Al-Ani discussed during his meeting with the Minister Plenipotentiary for Economic Affairs at the US Embassy Patrick Dam, ways to develop economic and trade relations between Iraq and America and exchange views on issues of mutual understanding, a statement from the ministry said.
Al-Ani pointed out that during the meeting discussed the issue of Iraq's accession to the WTO and the steps taken by Iraq to join the WTO and the most important required files related to the process of accession in accordance with the requirements of the current stage, the most important file memorandum of foreign trade policy for Iraq and a file of the preliminary presentation of goods and services Intellectual property as well as addressing the issue of facilitating the granting of business visas to both parties.
