Minister of Commerce meets Kuwaiti Deputy Ambassador in Baghdad

    Trade Minister Mohammad Hashim al-Ani discussed Wednesday with Kuwaiti Deputy Foreign Minister Mohammed Saud al-Waqayan several issues including the draft of a free trade agreement between the two countries.

     Al-Ani stressed during the meeting that the draft agreement aims to facilitate and develop trade exchanges as well as the establishment of a free trade area near Safwan-Abdali port through studying mechanisms to facilitate its work in the interest of the two brotherly countries, the ministry said in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency .The statement added that Al-Ani discussed the issue of entry visas for businessmen and the difficulties that may be achieved for both sides, especially with regard to the issuance of visas to enter the two countries, which constitute an obstacle to the exchange of visits, which negatively affected the volume of trade exchange between them.

    Pointing out the formation of a joint working team for the preparation of plans and economic feasibility studies and technical specifications and detailed studies and the requirements of rail links between the two countries
