
President Barham Salih received Dr. Mishaal Fahm al-Salami, the Speaker of the Arab Parliament, at His Excellency’s residence in Tunis on Sunday, March 31, 2019.
The President highlighted the importance of exerting utmost efforts to achieve rapprochement among the Arab countries and renounce differences, notably in light of the challenges faced by the Arab world, especially the issues of Palestine, the Golan, and the situations in Yemen and Libya.
Dr. Barham Salih valued the work of the Arab Parliament and its role in enhancing dialogue, understanding, and cooperation among the peoples of the Arab countries.
For his part, Dr. al-Salami emphasized the importance of Iraq's role in the joint Arab action, its direct contribution to Arab decision-making, and its continuous interaction with Arab events.
The Speaker of the Arab Parliament reiterated the Arab Parliament keenness to support the Iraqi people and government.
