Speaker of Iraqi Parliament Muhammad Al-Halbousi met the US-led presidential envoy of counter-terrorism James Jeffrey on Monday.
During the meeting, both have made talks regarding the current security and political situations in Iraq and the region.
They also have discussed the mutual efforts regarding fighting Daesh terrorist groups in the Iraqi-Syrian border crossing and ending it in the region.
Both have discussed the file of providing training and technical support to Iraqi forces as well.
The two highlighted the US support regarding IDPs and reconstructing the recaptured areas and supporting the Iraqi government as well to provide better services and fighting corruption.
Al-Halbousi praised the US efforts in term of fighting Daesh terrorist groups and the contribution in reconstructing the recaptured areas.
On his part, Jeffery confirmed his country's support to Iraq in counter-terrorism and reconstruction that will help maintaining the stability in whole region.
