Finland's Ambassador to Iraq, Anu Saarela, confirmed on Friday that numerous Finnish companies are currently operating in Iraq.
In an interview with the Iraqi News Agency (INA), the ambassador stated, “There are many Finnish companies working in Iraq, but the main incentive for these companies is stability. They are looking for a sustainable and safe business environment for investment in Iraq and the region in general.”
She added that “Finnish companies are active in various sectors, including energy and telecommunications. One of the most prominent companies is Nokia, which operates in the mobile phone sector. Additionally, there are a few companies in the construction sector, although this sector is no longer as active as it was in the 1980s.”
Regarding the Samarra power plant maintenance project, the Finnish ambassador confirmed that “the project is progressing step by step, and the Finnish company is committed to completing it.”
