Al-Zawraa's interim board announced today, Saturday, the official signing of Belgian coach Vital Borkelmans as a technical advisor for the club, with a contract extending until the end of the current season.
The head of the interim board, Hussam Ali, confirmed in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), "The contracting procedures with the Belgian coach have been completed after the signing of the contract between the two parties." He noted that "Borkelmans arrived in the capital, Baghdad, at dawn on Saturday to join the club as a technical advisor for all football teams."
Ali explained that "the Belgian coach will provide his support as a technical advisor to the current coaching staff of the first team and all age group teams." He also indicated that "the interim board renewed its confidence in Haider Obaid to continue working as head coach, Hisham Mohammed as his assistant, Alaa Katea as goalkeeper coach, and Mazen Abdul Sattar as fitness coach."
