The White House announced on Wednesday that US President Donald Trump and his Ukrainian counterpart, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, agreed to cooperate on a ceasefire in Ukraine.
The White House explained in a statement that "the agreement includes a temporary halt to attacks on energy facilities, a step aimed at de-escalating tensions and averting a humanitarian crisis."
The statement indicated that "technical teams from both sides will meet in Saudi Arabia in the coming days to discuss mechanisms for implementing the agreement, as part of ongoing diplomatic efforts to end the conflict."
The White House confirmed that "the United States will continue to share defense intelligence with Ukraine."
