Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani affirmed today, Sunday, the National Day of Mass Graves, that Iraqis sacrificed their lives for the freedom of the homeland.
The Prime Minister said in a tweet on Twitter, followed by the Iraqi News Agency (INA):”On the National Day of Mass Graves, we solemnly and proudly honor the sacrifices of hundreds of thousands of our fellow citizens who endured the horrors of one of history’s most brutal dictatorships—one that wielded violence, oppression, and mass killings with merciless cruelty.”
The Prime Minister added,”The Iraqi people paid the ultimate price in their pursuit of freedom and dignity, laying the foundation for the democratic system we live under today—a system where constitutional rights are safeguarded for all. Their immense sacrifices place upon us a solemn duty: to work tirelessly to ensure that our nation remains strong, its people dignified, and their lives marked by honor and prosperity.”
May mercy and eternal peace be upon Iraq’s martyrs. May disgrace and shame forever mark the murderers, criminals, and all who justified their atrocities.
