Prime Minister: Iraq has the resources to form partnerships

    Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani confirmed today, Thursday, that Iraq has resources and a geographical location that qualifies it to form partnerships with industrial and commercial countries.

    The Prime Minister's media office said in a statement - received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA): "Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani met with the President of the Czech Republic, Petr Pavel, as part of his official visit to the Czech capital, Prague."

    He added that "during the meeting, they discussed enhancing cooperation and partnership in various fields and ways to work on developing bilateral relations, in a way that serves the interests of the two friendly countries."

    Al-Sudani stressed - according to the statement - that "the victory over terrorism enabled Iraq to launch the development plans adopted by the government, and to proceed with opening productive cooperation partnerships with friendly European countries."

    The Prime Minister pointed out that "Iraq has natural and human resources and a geographical location that qualifies it to establish major partnerships with industrial and commercial countries, including the Czech Republic," expressing "the government's desire and aspiration for Czech companies to operate in Iraq."

    He stressed Iraq's keenness to "strengthen peace and impose security through cooperation with all brothers and friends," stressing that "stability in the Middle East region is positively reflected on the overall international security."

    For his part, the President of the Czech Republic stressed "the importance of Al-Sudani's visit to Prague, as a starting point for developing relations and preparing the ground for establishing serious partnerships, with the need to exchange bilateral visits to enhance cooperation," pointing to "Iraq's fundamental and pivotal role in the Middle East, and the need to coordinate with it in order to impose security and stability and end conflicts."
