Iraq has achieved 57% of its strategic service goals within a year, according to Aqeel Al-Khazali, Administrative Development Advisor to the Prime Minister and Head of the Committee for Streamlining Government Procedures and Services.

Speaking at The Annual Conference of Reviewing the Achievements of Subcommittees and the Intensive Specialization Training Program, Al-Khazali highlighted the government’s commitment to enhancing public services. He noted that the approval of the Strategic Service Management Guide by the Council of Ministers marks a transformative step in Iraq’s administrative landscape.

This conference signifies a new phase for Iraq’s public services,” Al-Khazali stated, emphasizing the government’s shift from theoretical planning to practical implementation. He acknowledged the role of ministers, governors, and institutional leaders in executing strategic plans effectively.

Al-Khazali stressed that the simplification of administrative procedures, which began in 2015 with just 64 services, has now expanded to 722, with a broader strategic vision encompassing over 1,016 services. He pointed out that government efforts have significantly reduced processing time from 3,800 planned hours to just 182 hours.

Addressing institutional challenges, he underscored the importance of cultural and ethical transformation in governance, announcing a new training program to drive further reform.

He concluded by reaffirming the government’s commitment to digital transformation, ensuring that Iraq continues to advance toward a more efficient and citizen-centric public sector.
