Iraq has achieved 57% of its strategic service goals within a year, according to Aqeel Al-Khazali, Administrative Development Advisor to the Prime Minister and Head of the Committee for Streamlining Government Procedures and Services
. Speaking at The Annual Conference of Reviewing the Achievements of Subcommittees and the Intensive Specialization Training Program, Al-Khazali highlighted the government’s commitment to enhancing public services. He noted that the approval of the Strategic Service Management Guide by the Council of Ministers marks a transformative step in Iraq’s administrative landscape
. “This conference signifies a new phase for Iraq’s public services,” Al-Khazali stated, emphasizing the government’s shift from theoretical planning to practical implementation. He acknowledged the role of ministers, governors, and institutional leaders in executing strategic plans effectively
. Al-Khazali stressed that the simplification of administrative procedures, which began in 2015 with just 64 services, has now expanded to 722, with a broader strategic vision encompassing over 1,016 services. He pointed out that government efforts have significantly reduced processing time from 3,800 planned hours to just 182 hours
. Addressing institutional challenges, he underscored the importance of cultural and ethical transformation in governance, announcing a new training program to drive further reform.
He concluded by reaffirming the government’s commitment to digital transformation, ensuring that Iraq continues to advance toward a more efficient and citizen-centric public sector
