Al-Abboudi announces signing of more than 179 MoUs with Iran

    The Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Naim al-Abboudi, announced on Thursday the signing of more than 179 memorandums of understanding during Science Week between Iraq and the Islamic Republic of Iran, emphasizing the endeavor to make Iraqi universities productive and open to society and that their outputs are an important input to the labor market.

    Al-Aboudi said in a statement to the Iraqi News Agency (INA): “The science week between Iraq and the Islamic Republic of Iran started since last year, where the first forum was held, and the second forum was held a few days ago and there was a very large attendance and interaction between Iraqi and Iranian universities.”

    “There are more than 179 memorandums of understanding that have been signed, and there are scientific programs that have been agreed upon, which are important achievements between Iraqi and Iranian universities, real partnership and the establishment of scientific modernity that will contribute significantly to the level of investment and scientific research,” Al-Abboudi added.

    “We seek to make Iraqi universities productive and open to society, and that the outputs of our universities are an important input to the labor market, and this is what we are focusing on at this stage,” he added.
