The Iraqi Embassy in Washington announced on Saturday the recovery of the "Reclining Ram" statue.
"As part of the efforts to preserve Iraq's cultural heritage, the embassy succeeded in recovering the statue of the "Reclining Ram" dating back to the Jemdet Nasr period 3100-2900 BC, in cooperation with the Federal Bureau of Investigation in Washington," said the embassy on the X - followed by the Iraqi News Agency - INA.
The embassy confirmed that "this step highlights Iraq's commitment to recovery diplomacy to protect its cultural heritage and return it to its original homeland."
