National Security Adviser Qasim Al-Araji affirmed on Tuesday Iraq's firm position in respecting the choices of the Syrian people and the integrity of their territories.
Al-Araji received in his office the French Ambassador to Baghdad, Patrick Dorrell, and reviewed with him the bilateral relations between Iraq and France and ways to enhance them in a way that serves the interests of the two friendly countries and peoples, in addition to discussing the development of the situation in the region and the role of diplomacy in bringing international viewpoints closer together," according to statement by the media office of the National Security Adviser - received by the Iraqi News Agency - INA.
Al-Araji affirmed, "Iraq's firm position in respecting the choices of the Syrian people and the integrity of their territories and forming their government away from foreign interference."
The statement added that "they discussed the coordination of international efforts to end the presence of the Syrian Al-Hol camp and return its residents to their countries."
