Ministry of Culture: Tourist sites will be rehabilitated

    The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Antiquities for Cultural Affairs, Fadhel Al-Badrani, announced today, Sunday, the imminent start of rehabilitating all tourist and archaeological sites in the country, stressing the ministry's determination to reach revenues of 30% of the country's budget.
     
    Al-Badrani told the Iraqi News Agency (INA): that "The Ministry of Culture succeeded in the file for Baghdad to be the capital of Arab tourism 2025," noting that "the activities will continue for a full year, starting from January 1, 2025 to December 31, 2025."
     
    He added that "the ministry has prepared a multi-faceted plan to restore tourist and archaeological sites and campaigns to decorate and rehabilitate streets to highlight Baghdad in the most beautiful image during Baghdad Capital of Arab Tourism events."
     
    Al-Badrani continued that "a delegation from the Arab Organization is visiting Baghdad to follow up on the activities and participate in this cultural event." 
    He pointed out that "the ministry's plan includes rehabilitating the sites of Aqarquf, Al-Saray, Al-Mustansiriya School, Al-Madain and museums will be present in the events with a restoration and decoration campaign to present them in the best possible way." 
    Al-Badrani explained that "the ministry's plan is to attract tourism to Iraq, to constitute 30 percent of the country's budget."
