Iraqi President Barham Salih received Italy’s PM Giuseppe Conte on Wednesday along with a companied delegation.
Salih asserted that the development of mutual relations between the two countries contributes to enhancing mutual interest.
“Iraq is keen on making active relations with Italy and European Union countries in general,” he added.
He explained that Iraq is open now Arab, regional and international wise after the victory that has been achieved against terrorism.
President Salih also praised the Italian role in the International Coalition to counter-terrorism and the support that has been given to the Iraqi security forces as well as the contribution in many service projects.
On his part, Conte confirmed his country’s willingness to support the efforts in terms of counter-terrorism and that Italy is serious in enhancing mutual cooperation.
He also expressed his happiness to visit Iraq and praised the country’s stability.
