President of the Republic, Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid, and Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Fuad Hussein, inaugurated today, Wednesday, the pavilion of the Republic of Iraq at the United Nations Climate Change Conference "COP 29", held in the Azerbaijani capital, Baku, which will last for two weeks.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA): "The President of the Republic, Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid, and Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Fuad Hussein, inaugurated the Iraqi Pavilion at the United Nations Climate Change Conference "COP 29", held in the Azerbaijani capital, Baku, which will last for two weeks."
The ministry added that "the Iraqi Pavilion highlights Iraq's experience in confronting the effects of the climate crisis and its consequences on the environmental, social and economic levels, and presents the national efforts made to adapt to these challenges.
" It continued that "the discussion at the conference this year focuses on ways for rich countries to help developing countries overcome the climate crisis, by providing funding and technical support to enhance the ability of developing countries to adapt to the repercussions of climate change and reduce its negative effects."
