The Ministry of Immigration and Displacement announced today, Sunday, the continuation of providing basic support to Lebanese families arriving in Iraq, noting that the majority of families are concentrated in three governorates.
The ministry's spokesman, Ali Abbas, told the Iraqi News Agency (INA): "The number of Lebanese families arriving in Iraq has reached more than 14,000 families distributed throughout the governorates, most of these families are concentrated in Karbala, Najaf and Babylon, while the rest of the families are distributed in other governorates."
"The ministry is currently in the evaluation and registration phase, where the needs of these families are being classified and evaluated," stressing that "the ministry will proceed in the coming days to provide basic needs such as food and health supplies, in addition to blankets, according to the available capabilities."
Abbas pointed out that "the ministry continues to provide services to the guests of Iraq," indicating that "there are great administrative and coordination efforts to communicate with these families, including coordination with the Ministries of Education, Health and Oil, and local authorities in the governorates."
The Border crossings Authority confirmed, today, Sunday, that the number of Lebanese arrivals from September 27 to November 10 reached more than (18) thousand Lebanese.
